Calling on waders, trash pickers, paddle boarders, galoshers, lake lovers, and waterfowl admirers.

The pop up trash blitz on July 9th was a powerful testament to community and city leadership working together to address the Barnum lake ecosystem and riparian spaces. The community and the wildlife/waterfowl which live and rely upon the waters of Barnum Lake benefit.

CGPC started cleaning the waters four years ago, and now the focus is on the interior waters, lakes, the drainage pond, and the shoreline.

This is a co-sponsored event with Barnum Sustainable Neighborhood, Polar Planet, Denver Parks and Recreation, and the phenomenal support of Councilwoman Jamie Torres. Bring friends and neighbors!

Staging Ground: Southeast side of the lake off Grove St.

Our cleanups are all-ages, family-friendly events that provide a safe and humane activity that helps wildlife in our community and allows community members to become better acquainted with the lake ecosystem and to learn about local conservation efforts.

Note: Denver Parks & Recreations requires that a liability waiver be signed. A DPR representative will be on site with waiver forms.

Trash bags, trash pickers, a couple waders, and buckets will be provided.
